Positive Points:
Performance
Presence of Vijay Deverakonda
MMA fight sequences
Negative Points:
Water-thin storyline
Vijay Deverakonda stammering act
Mike Tyson presence wasted
Forced love story between Vijay and Ananya
No Strong villain
Performance:
The young sensation Vijay Deverakonda is a natural talent and doesn’t try too hard to act and keeps it simple irrespective of the complexities of the character he essays. His expressive face and agile frame separate him from the other trained actors. He is a talented actor but his stammering act that looks good in the promos, disappoints the audience on the screen.
It is the biggest mistake of Puri to show him as a man with a disability. Making Vijay stammer does not work one bit. Ananya looks cute and justifies her role. Once again Ramya Krishnan wins the hearts of many with her terrific performance.
Mike Tyson makes an appearance in the climax part and he is just fine. Getup Seenu, Ali, and Ronit Roy and others justify their roles.
Technical Aspects:
Liger has a water-thin storyline and Puri Jagannadh’ way of narration and the realistic feel makes Liger a special movie but his mark dialogues and emotions are missing in the movie. The Cinematographer’s splendid work is its major asset of the film. The Background music is very good. The Songs are good and the editing is not up to the mark, the film needs a lot of trimming. The production values are fine. There is no proper antagonist in this drama, which is one of the major drawbacks of the film.
Overall Analysis:
Liger is strictly passable watch and Vijay’s stammering act and no strong villain are the minus points of the film. MMA Mixed Martial Arts fights, that come one after the other, make the film watch.
