Story:

Major is a biographical drama based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who has sacrificed his life during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The movie prominently showcases Sandeep’s spirited life and determination as a soldier. What is his family background? Which aspects influenced him during childhood to join Army? What is his role as an NSG Commando during Mumbai terror attacks?

How did he face terrorists and save the hostages in the Mumbai Taj hotel? To know these, you have to watch the movie in theatres.

Performances

Undoubtedly, Adivi Sesh gave his best in the role of NSG Commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan. He brings authentic texture to the proceedings with his commendable screen presence and his cool attitude and settled performance throughout the movie are an added advantage for the film, Major. The actor maintained a perfect physique and fitted in NSG Commando role.

Prakash Raj and Revathi get good roles as Sandeep’s parents and they just lived in the characters. While young actress Saiee Manjrekar is cute on-screen, her love track with the actor comes as an out of the syllabus during the crucial proceedings in the second half.

Actress Shobita Dhulipala as a hostage gave her convincing performance. Murali Sharma did their job perfectly as a high-grade Army officer.

Technical Aspects:

Apart from acting, the actor provided the story and screenplay for the film. As everyone knows the story is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan but Adivi Sesh came up with the awesome screenplay. Especially, his paperwork during the Taj Mahal hotel Commando operation is clearly seen on screen.

Director Sashi Kiran Tikka did his part effectively and executed the movie as per the on paper guidance from the actor. The cinematography done by Vamsi Patchipulusu is impressive as showcased the entire movie on a bright note especially action scenes in the second half with smokey frames and elevates the mood nicely.

Music composed by Sricharan Pakala is the backbone of the movie as his background score elevates the key episodes superbly. Two duets between the lead actors in the first half are passable. Production values for this limited budget movie so high. Editing work by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and Kodati Pavan Kalyan is done good.
