Mohanlal’s Odiyan Movie Review
Mohanlal’s much awaited Malayalam movie ‘Odiyan’ has dubbed into Telugu and released now. Let’s see how the movie was.
Cast: Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Prakash Raj
Director: V. A. Shrikumar Menon
Odiyan Movie Story:
Odiyan Manikyam (Mohan Lal) stays away from his native village for over fifteen years and returns back to protect Prabha (Manju Warrier) and her family.
Who is Prabha and what is the relation between Prabha and Odiyan? Why was Odiyan Manikyam away from his own village? What is the role of Raja Rao in this entire episode? To know all these things, you have to watch the movie on screen.
Odiyan Movie Review:
Mohanlal performed well in his role and did justice to the action sequences. Manju Warrier looks beautiful and did her role well and impressed the audience as a woman who takes responsibility of her family.
Prakash Raj is okay as a baddie. The song between Manju and her sister was picturized well. The narration was slow and the screenplay is not impressive as it just feels like a routine revenge drama.
Also, there is a lack of entertainment as energetic songs and comedy were not done well. Mohanlal changing getups for no reason wonders everyone.
Director’s thought of a revenge drama with unique concept is good but the slow pace narration spoiled everything. Editing by Johnkutty is not so impressive as up to 30 minutes can be chopped off easily.
Cinematography is decent. Music is below average. Production values are disappointing.
What’s Good:
- Lead performances
What’s Okay:
- Cinematography
What’s Bad:
- Narration
- Music
- Verdict: Overall, Odiyan is below average revenge drama with slow pace narration. So, you can easily skip it and save money for next weekend!
