Most Popular And Profitable South Remakes In Bollywood

The remake of South Indian films is the current trend in Bollywood. There is no complaint about it, as the movies are doing great business and are being liked by the audience. Here is the list of some of the most popular remakes of South Indian movies in Bollywood –

Kabir Singh – The classic Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ was recently remade in Hindi, by the filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also made the original movie. Titled as ‘Kabir Singh’, the movie featured Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The movie collected 276 crores and broke many records. Shahid’s performance was applauded.

Bhool Bhuliya – Horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, was the remake of ‘Manichitrathazu’. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie did a business of 50-crores at the box office. Its sequel is on its way and will have Kartik Aryan in the shoes of Akshay Kumar. It will be interesting to see how the sequel will perform at the box office.

Baaghi 2 – The second movie in the Baaghi franchise, was the remake of Telugu movie ‘Kashnam’. Tiger Shroff along with his girlfriend was featured in the movie and it went on to cross 150 crores mark. The audience liked the chemistry between the two actors.

Singham – Rohit Shetty who is famous for his action-packed car sequences, made remake of Tamil movie titled same in 2010. Starring Ajay Devgn, the movie did 100 crores business at the box office.

Bodyguard – The romantic-action movie starring Salman and Kareen in the lead roles, was the remake South film which was also titled, Bodyguard. The film collected about 150 crores and audiences liked Salman’s different avatar.
