Non-Bailable Warrant Against Actor Vishal!
A non-bailable warrant (NBW) has been issued against actor Vishal by the Chennai local court after Income Tax Department filed a case against him over the non-payment of TDS by his production house Vishal Film Factory for a period of five years. According to the source, Vishal was summoned to appear in front of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-II (ACMM-II) but he failed to do so. And then justice S Malarmathi has issued an arrest warrant against this actor.
Vishal's counsel submitted a file to judge Malarmathi that Vishal did not receive any summons regarding the case. The public prosecutor for Income Tax department Sheela argued that how did the Vishal’s counsel file a memo of appearance and a petition to support the absence of the accused. She has also submitted the acknowledgment for the receipt of summons by Vishal and said that this was not the first time summon has sent to Vishal and still he didn’t attend the court.
According to Income Tax Department, Vishal’s production house Vishal Film Factory which is located in Vadapalani had deducted TDS from the employees but it hadn't remitted the deducted TDS into the government account for the last 5 years. The IT department had carried out an income tax raid in 2017 against Vishal Film Factory. It is also revealed that the Income Tax department had sent several notices to Vishal to appear before it but he failed to attend.
So, finally, the IT department approached and issued summons from the court on July 24 by ACMM. Now, the case has been adjourned by the justice to Aug 28. On the film front, Vishal is working under the director of Sundar C for his next. The film features Tamannaah in a prominent role, and Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi is making her Tamil debut.
