Pooja Hegde In Gunasekhar’ Shaakuntalam

It is known news that Gunasekhar is going to helm Shaakuntalam, which is going to be a woman-centric project. After delivering Rudhramadevi starring Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati, now he is coming up with a historical drama that is rumored to be inspired by the epic Mahabharatam. Now as per the latest report, Pooja Hegde will essay the female lead in Gunasekhar’ Shaakuntalam.

The sources close to the director revealed that the moviemakers are approaching Pooja Hegde to essay the titular role and if everything accordingly and if she agrees on the project then we will be seeing her playing the role of Shakuntala in this film.

According to Gunasekhar, the upcoming film is a woman-centric film. The story is all about the story of Shakuntala, who is the daughter of the apsara Menaka and sage Vishwamitra, which is based upon a love affair, secret marriage, separation, and again reunion of Dushyanta and Shakuntala.

Shakuntalam is bankrolled by Neelima Guna under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and the film will have the music by Mani Sharma. The film is going to bring curiosity among the public with an interesting premise. After ‘Shaakuntalam’, the director is expected to direct another mythological drama ‘Hiranyakashapa’ in which Rana Daggubati will essay the lead role.
