Power Play Movie Review

Raj Tharun is in need of box office hit as all of his recent movies has turned out to be duds and for the first time in his career, he starred in a content-driven project, titled as Power Play the supposed suspense thriller, which was released today. Here’s the review of the movie.
Movie Power Play
Star Cast Raj Tarun, Hemal Ingle, Poorna
Director Vijay Kumar Konda
Producer Mahidhar & Devesh
Music Suresh Bobbili
Story:
Vijay (Raj Tharun) is blamed for stealing currency notes from ATM and replacing them with fake notes and is arrested by the police. The only way he can prove his innocence is by presenting the CCTV footage from a camera, which was placed in a mechanic shop beside the ATM. But there is a lock and the mechanic shop owner doesn’t agree to provide him with the footage and in turn, Raj Tharun blackmails the daughter of CM with it. The remaining story deals with the link between these all tracks.
Performance:
Raj Tharun essayed a challenging role in the movie and succeeded in carrying the right intensity with his performance and facial expressions. Poorna as CM’s daughter comes up with a great performance. Hemal looks cute and gives a decent performance. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raja Ravindra, and Ajay essay the supporting roles and deliver what is expected of them.
Technical Aspects:
The story written by Nandyala Ravi is inferior. It takes slow narration and thrilling scenes to present a story like this but sadly for Power Play, it possesses neither of them. The movie is dull as it can get and has absolutely no mention-worthy scenes. The screenplay is clumsy and the main story part is not gripping enough. The cinematography done by Andrew creates the right mood with his good work behind the screens. Suresh Bobbili’s background music is another one of the few positives of the movie.
Positive Points:
- Raj Tharun and Poorna’s performances
- Background score
- Cinematography
Negative Points:
- Story and screenplay
- slow narration
- Weak direction
- Illogical scenes
Overall Verdict:
The word Power Play is used in cricket and it is linked with an exciting encounter between the two teams. But this movie, leaves the audiences scratching their heads with its illogical scenes and boring screenplay.
