Story:
The family of Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan (Rajini), a retired veteran, consists of his wife Ramya Krishna, son Arjun, daughter-in-law Mirna Menon, and their little child. As an assistant police commissioner, Arjun is tasked with apprehending the thieves responsible for stealing idols from temples. Arjun is taken hostage by the primary bad guy, Varma. The core of the movie revolves around Rajinikanth's background and his attempts to save his family and son.
On-screen performances
The hero of the programme, Thalaivar Rajinikanth, emanates his signature swag and vigour throughout the majority of the time. His character is reserved throughout the first few conversations, but as the movie goes on, he starts to find his voice. After a lengthy absence of 25 years, Ramya Krishna is once again starring alongside Rajini. However, she has a complicated personality. Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh, two comedians, create laughter. Vinayakan, the antagonist, is a great find and he emotes beautifully. Mohan Lal and Shivraj Kumar did well in their cameo parts. Jackie Shroff is only average.
Off-screen talents
A strange commercial director, Nelson Dilipkumar is Nelson Dilipkumar. He makes use of Rajini's entire swag. Additionally, he continues to inject humour into the action as is his trademark. The movie's beginning drags a little and there isn't much action. The opening half of the film contains a couple excellent sequences. Prior to the interval, the temperature rises, and the interval portion is when the true banger is delivered. Rajini is in good form during the interval block. The post-interval moments, however, fall short of expectations.
The second half of the story felt a little tedious from beginning to conclusion. By including Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar in the film's climax, the creators hoped to create buzz. The scenes, however, fell short of fully entertaining the audience. Due to the weak narrative, the viewer is not engaged by the emotional passages involving Rajinikanth and his son.
Anirudh is one of the primary characters in the programme because he uses high-pitched BGM to ignite important scenes. He improves the mood with his upbeat BGM. Thanks to the man behind the lend's amazing work, the visual appearance is very strong. High-quality production values are what one would anticipate from Sun TV Network.
Positive Aspects:
Rajini’s swag
Interval block
Anirudh’s BGM
Negative Aspects:
Attempt to include comedy in uncanny places
Slow start
Poor Verdict:
Jailer has its own share of bright moments and also dull blocks. But as a whole it is an avg watch for Rajini and other top cast. Nelson has wasted an golden oppurtunity by not concentrating on 2nd half.
