Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Sparks Age-Gap Debate with Sara Arjun

On his 40th birthday, Ranveer Singh unveiled the first teaser of his upcoming action-spy film Dhurandhar, sparking major discussions—not just about the film but also about its casting. The teaser also revealed the film’s female lead, Sara Arjun, a 20-year-old Tamil actress. The notable 20-year age gap between Ranveer and Sara immediately became a trending topic online.
Social media erupted with concern over whether their characters would be romantically linked. Many netizens expressed discomfort, pointing out the troubling pattern of young actresses being paired opposite much older male actors. One Reddit post highlighting Sara’s age during filming triggered a flurry of comments, some hoping the relationship was purely professional or story-driven.
However, others defended the casting, urging viewers to withhold judgment until the film’s release. Several argued that assumptions based on limited footage were unfair and undermined the creative process.
Sara Arjun, who began her career in commercials and won hearts with her role in Deiva Thirumagal at age six, has since worked in multiple languages including Hindi and Tamil. Her notable credits include Ek Thi Daayan, Jazbaa, and Ponniyin Selvan.
Dhurandhar is written and directed by Aditya Dhar, and features a powerhouse ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film is set to release on December 5, 2025.
