Review: Mission Mangal’s Mission Successful!

Mission Mangal was finally released yesterday. The much talked about film is being liked by the audience. The story of the movie is about ISRO scientists who successfully send a satellite into the orbit of Mars in the first attempt, making India the first country to do so.
Although the movie is based on a real-life incident, the characters of scientists portrayed in the film are fictional. The reviews for the storyline are average, but the performances by the five female actresses and especially Vidya Balan is exceptional.
Akshay Kumar brings strong star power to the table along with some comic timings, which is a relief. The five girls outshine even Akshay’s performance. The choices these girls make in their career is being loved the most. The movie is very much watchable if you can ignore a few excesses here and there.
The film is about rocket science, but the things are brought down to a very simple and basic level. On the whole, the movie is a good entertainer, with a few boring patches here and there. But it is more about celebrating the women empowerment and the success of sending a satellite to Mars.
The film is released across 3000 screens in India and has made a collection of approximately 26 crores on its opening day. As Eid is synonymous to Salman film, Independence Day has become synonymous to Akshay Kumar.
