Sekhar Kammula’s Gives Clarity On Saranga Dariya Controversy

The latest song which was released from Sekhar Kammula‘s upcoming movie Love Story a few days ago, the song, Saranga Dariya, which was sung by Mangli, became an instant chartbuster, and has garnered almost over 33 million views so far, and is still going rounds on social media. At the same time, the song has also become highly controversial ever since its release. Suddhala Ashok Teja penned the lyrics for the movie version of the song.
Director Sekhar Kammula has finally responded to this controversy regarding the song and said that his team initially approached the original singer of the song Saranga Dariya, Komali, but as she wasn’t able to sing at the time due to severe cold, the team decided to go ahead with the singer Mangli and the song was recorded at the end of February.
He also clarified that he promised to compensate the original singer Komali financially and even promised to make her sing the song if there is an audio or pre-release event, and give her the due credit in the movie. There was one more singer that claimed rights for the song, but since Komali was the first person who made it famous, Sekhar was advised by Suddhala Ashok Teja, to go with Komali.
Sekhar Kammula also mentioned that he hasn’t been up to date with the present controversy, as he was busy with the post-production process of his film Love Story, and not been getting much time to watch TV. He said that this is the reason he chose to share his version of the story on social media, hoping that it would clarify everything.
