Shakuntala Devi Chooses OTT Platform

We are aware of the news that Vidhya Balan has essayed the role of Nandamuri Balakrishna’ wife in NTR biopic NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu. Currently the actress is busy in her upcoming film, which is a biopic of Shakuntala Devi. Yesterday, the makers of Shakuntala Devi has released the trailer which received a positive response by the fans and the movie lovers, which increased the excitement to watch the movie.

Now as per the latest update, Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi will be released on OTT platform. Vidya Balan says the direct to digital release strategy will take the upcoming film, Shakuntala Devi to global audiences. She also said that, “A direct release on the streaming platform will bring Shakuntala Devi one step closer to the viewers across the globe, where they can watch the film at their convenience. The film Shakuntala Devi was planned for a theatrical release, but will be going digital route due to the disruptions caused by the Covid - 19.”

Directed by Anu Menon, the movie Shakuntala Devi is based on the life of Shakuntala, who is widely revered as the human computer for her innate ability to make amazing complex calculations within seconds. The movie also features Sanya Malhotra, who is playing the role of Shakuntala Devi’ daughter Anupama, along with Amit Sadh and Jisshu Sengupta in key roles. The film is going to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 31st July.
