Triptii Dimri Reacts to ‘Negative PR’ Against Deepika Padukone After Spirit Controversy

Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri has unintentionally stirred conversation online after liking a social media reel defending Deepika Padukone amid the ongoing Spirit controversy. The upcoming film, directed by Animal maker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas, has been in the spotlight since reports surfaced that Deepika exited the project and Triptii replaced her as the female lead.
The reel, shared by celebrity saree draper Dolly Jain, praised Deepika’s dedication — recalling her commitment during the Nagada Sang Dhol shoot despite severe pain and bleeding feet caused by a heavy lehenga and intense choreography. Triptii’s “like” on the post was seen as a subtle stand against the wave of negative PR targeting Deepika following her exit.
Reports suggest tension arose after Deepika requested shorter working hours, a higher fee of ₹20 crore, and a share in profits, which allegedly led to friction with Vanga. The director later announced Triptii’s casting and posted cryptic messages on social media criticizing “actors playing dirty PR games.” He wrote, “When I narrate a story, I place 100% faith. There’s an unsaid NDA, but by doing this, you’ve disclosed the person you are.”
Vanga’s comments and Deepika’s departure have fueled heated debates online about professionalism, gender bias, and transparency in Bollywood. Despite the controversy, Spirit — starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri — remains one of the most anticipated films from Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who promises another intense cinematic experience.
