Veteran Actor Devadas Kankala Passes Away

Popular Tollywood actor Devadas Kanakala passed away today due to prolonged illness. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at KIMS hospital, Hyderabad. He is the father of actors Rajeev Kanakala and Sri Laxmi, and the father-in-law of TV anchor Suma Kanakala.
He founded an acting school in Hyderabad, India. His wife Lakshmi Kanakala worked as School’s principal before her death. Super Star Rajini Kanth, Chiranjeevi and Rajendra Prasad are the students of Devadas. When he is in problems, Rajini Kanth gave his call sheet to Devadas for a movie but Devadas rejected Rajini Kanth dates.
Devadas started his acting career with ‘O Seeta Katha’ and went on to work in Siri Siri Muvva, Gorintaku, Manchupallaki, Ammo! Okato Tareekhu, Gang Leader, Okato Number Kurradu, Sreeram, Dhana 51, Malliswari and more. Recently, he has acted in Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu movie. Devadas Kanakala was born on July 30, 1945, in Yanam. Devadas’s grandfather Naidu had served as an MLA during the French administration in Yanam.
