Veteran musician P Susheela is in the hospital in Chennai.

Due to her poor health, seasoned playback singer P Susheela was admitted to the hospital on Sunday.

The 88-year-old singer was brought to Chennai's Kauvery Hospital. She apparently complained of excruciating stomach pain and was taken to the hospital.

The singer is stable, the hospital confirmed, despite the singer's family's assurances to fans and well-wishers that he is receiving good care.

After receiving the Padma Bhushan in 2009, P Susheela took a few years out of the spotlight.

The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes her as "Gaana Kokila," and she is well-known for being able to sing the most songs in Indian languages.
