War 2 Review: Jr NTR-Hrithik Roshan Deliver Action-Packed Spectacle

Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 brings together Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Telugu megastar Jr NTR in a high-voltage action extravaganza produced by Yash Raj Films. The movie marks Jr NTR’s Hindi debut and lives up to its hype in terms of action, though it lacks emotional depth.
The story follows Kabir (Hrithik Roshan), a former RAW agent turned assassin working for a shadowy group called Kali. After eliminating his mentor Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), Kabir is hunted by Major Vikram (Jr NTR) and Luthra’s daughter Kavya (Kiara Advani). As the chase unfolds across Japan, Italy, Germany, and India, shocking truths about Vikram’s past and Kali’s real motives come to light.
Jr NTR delivers a powerhouse performance, excelling in both action and emotional sequences. He matches Hrithik’s intensity, particularly in their high-octane fight scenes. Hrithik remains charismatic and physically commanding, while Kiara Advani impresses with her screen presence and sizzling chemistry with Hrithik.
Technically, War 2 is world-class. Benjamin Jasper’s cinematography captures breathtaking landscapes, while Sanchit and Ankit Balhara’s background score amplifies the thrill. Action sequences—including a mid-air plane fight—are choreographed with precision. The production values are lavish, with every frame exuding grandeur.
However, the film’s second half loses steam due to an overdose of action and underwhelming dramatic payoffs. The emotional beats fail to fully engage, and some VFX-heavy sequences look less convincing.
Verdict: War 2 is a star-powered spectacle driven by Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s electric performances. While its story is thin, the action and scale make it a must-watch for fans of adrenaline-fueled cinema.
