World Famous Lover Review

Vijay Deverakonda's World Famous Lover has finally arrived at the theatres today, 14th Feb 2020, on the eve of Valentine's day. Let us have a look at the review of the movie.

Story

Gowtham and Yamini are the two main characters in the movie, who are going through a struggling marriage as Gowtham is not himself, the reason behind this is his ambition to become a writer is frustratingly getting difficult. He is slowly descending into madness, and his wife cannot bear it. In the process of tension, depression, and trouble, he finds inspiration and comes up with a story.

The movie mainly highlights his sacrifice and also tries to highlight the sacrifice of women. What happens when Yamini and Gowtham decide to split? Why did it happen? Would Gowtham fulfill his dream? That is what the movie is all about.

Performances

Vijay Deverakonda is terrific in Gowtham's character. His unique presence in Tollywood is once again established by World Famous Lover. if not for him, it would be very difficult to sit through the film. The film shows three different shades of the actor. The real surprise package is the Seenayya character, in which he has shown an effortless and free-flowing side. The Telangana accent is a real plus for the film.

Coming to the four female leads, Raashi Khanna gets the central character among all. She has been presented in a stylish look. A lot of scenes require her to cry, and they all appear fake.

Aishwarya Rajesh has a de-glamorous role and lesser run time as well and yet she manages to impress the audiences. The other two leads Catherine Tresa and Izabella Leite are actually not required, but then their performances are appreciable. Apart from Vijay Deverakonda and the other leads, there are hardly any characters to speak about, only Jaya Prakash and Priyadarshi come to mind, and they have nothing worth mentioning.

Technical aspects:

Director, Kranthi Madhav is a three-film old director and his first film came out in 2012. Among the three two have done decent business, whereas one is successful. The main part of his success has been his writing, which is hard-hitting.

Gopi Sunder’s music is surprisingly lackluster for the film. The background score is better. The cinematography is also fine. The editing could have been better. The film needs to be trimmed further to make it crisp and the narration part is decent, but for a love story with this content, it required much more than this.

Overall Verdict:

The World Famous Lover is a combination of three stories where the director failed to connect them together properly to make it a soulful film. The first half of the movie is full of heartfelt emotions and awesome performances but lacks the same intensity in the second half and ends with a routine climax.
