AP IT Minister Nara Lokesh Promotes State's AI and Investment Potential to US Tech Leaders
During a meeting in San Francisco, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh emphasized that the state is set to lead in AI-driven governance and employment. Drawing a parallel to his father, former CM N Chandrababu Naidu’s proactive approach during the Y2K boom, Lokesh highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to harnessing AI and machine learning for state development.
On his week-long tour of the US, Lokesh presented Andhra Pradesh’s favorable investment environment and the NDA government’s investor-friendly policies. “India is poised for transformative changes over the next 25 years, and we’re focused on delivering faster, more efficient governance through AI,” he stated, also noting Naidu’s strategic formation of a young, dynamic cabinet to propel these initiatives.
Lokesh outlined vast investment opportunities in sectors like manufacturing, renewable energy, bioenergy, aquaculture, and petrochemicals. The government has adopted a structured approach, setting milestones every 100 days to drive comprehensive state progress. As the Education Minister, Lokesh emphasized reforms in education to produce skilled, industry-ready graduates, with universities increasingly prioritizing research for modern innovation.
Prominent entrepreneur Praveen Akkiraju hosted the gathering, attended by industry leaders like Nvidia VP Rama Akkiraju, Wipro President Nagendra Bandaru, Nutanix President Rajiv Ramaswami, and senior executives from Google Cloud, Salesforce, Cisco, Western Digital, and Equinix, along with CEOs and venture capital leaders from major global tech firms.
