Aarogyasri To Cover COVID Treatment

CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government has taken yet another crucial decision amid COVID-19 pandemic in the state. The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday issued directives covering the COVID-19 disease in the Aarogya Sri scheme.
The government has issued a notification stating that the COVID-19 victims should also be admitted to private hospitals for the treatment. The government has set out a cost package for the medical treatment of the virus.
As per the notification, fees for the coronavirus treatment is stipulated in between Rs.16,000 to a maximum of Rs.2.16 lakh.
However, it is to be noted that the corona cases would be admitted to private hospitals under the supervision of government officials who would monitor the medical procedures from time to time.
The death toll related to COVID-19 reached to 4 by Tuesday morning, as per the bulletin released by the authorities. A new death case is reported from the Kurnool district. The patient was suffering from the pandemic coronavirus and got admitted to the Government General Hospital in Kurnool on April 1. He tested positive for the virus. He was a type 2 diabetic patient before the virus affecting him, doctors confirmed.
On the other hand, another new positive case has been confirmed from Guntur district, taking total to 304 in the State so far.
