Amit Shah Highlights Success of Operation Sindoor, Announces New NSG Hub in Ayodhya

Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that Operation Sindoor successfully destroyed terror headquarters, training centres, and launchpads deep inside Pakistan, asserting that “no place is safe for terrorists anymore.” Speaking at the 41st Raising Day of the National Security Guard (NSG) in Manesar, Shah praised India’s security forces for their precision and determination in counter-terror operations.
He also highlighted Operation Mahadev, which targeted and eliminated the terrorists responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 civilians. These actions, he said, have restored public confidence in the nation’s security apparatus.
Shah emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism. From the abrogation of Article 370 to surgical strikes, air strikes, and now Operation Sindoor, the government has targeted the “very roots” of terror networks.
“No matter where terrorists hide, our forces have shown they will be hunted down—even to the depths of the Earth,” Shah said.
He outlined several major policy steps since 2019 to strengthen internal security:
Amendments to the UAPA and NIA Act
Stronger enforcement of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act
A scientific system to track terror funding
Ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI)
Strengthening of the Multi Agency Centre for intelligence sharing
Defining “terrorism” in new criminal laws
Declaring over 57 individuals and numerous organisations as unlawful
Shah honoured the NSG’s legacy, noting its key roles in Operation Ashwamedh, Vajra Shakti, and Dhangu Suraksha, and praised its courage in tackling major terror threats since 1984. “Every citizen feels safe because of the NSG’s bravery,” he said.
In a major announcement, Shah revealed that a sixth NSG hub will be established in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, joining existing hubs in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Gandhinagar.
He also laid the foundation stone for a ₹141 crore Special Operations Training Centre over 8 acres, which will train both NSG commandos and anti-terror squads from across India. This state-of-the-art facility will further enhance national counter-terror capabilities.
Shah concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to crushing terrorism in all forms and ensuring the safety of every Indian citizen.
