Amul selects a 25-acre plot in Telangana for its factory.

Fast-tracking plans to build its largest factory in South India near Hyderabad is the Gujarat-based major dairy cooperative society Amul, adding gasoline to Telangana's White Revolution in the dairy sector. The dairy giant has decided to build a milk processing factory on 25 acres of property in Wargal, Gajwel.
Official sources confirmed the company was nearing completion of the land sale, which is estimated to be valued around Rs.25 crore, and that the factory, with a capacity of five lakh litres per day, will be built there.
A senior official from the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation said that Amul was making plans to gradually increase the plant's output to 10 million litres per day.
In December 2021, Telangana's government and the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF), led by Sabarkantha Dist Co-op Milk Producers Union-Sabar Dairy MD Babubhai M Patel, inked a memorandum of understanding.
GCMMF will invest around Rs.300 crore in Phase 1 and Rs.200 crore in Phase 2 to establish the facility, as stated during the deal signing event.
Officials said that the plant was expected to provide direct employment to more than 500 people and opportunities to several ancillary industries, and that all measures were being taken to set it up at the earliest in accordance with the company's plans to begin commercial production within 18 to 24 months.
Packed milk and other dairy products with added value such curd, buttermilk, lassi, yoghurt, paneer, and sweets would be produced at the plant. In addition, Amul is planning to open a bakery in Telangana, where they would manufacture a variety of baked goods, including breads, biscuits, traditional sweets, and baked snacks.
