Andhra Pradesh Sets Benchmark in Social Security and Development Initiatives
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed his government’s commitment to uplifting the downtrodden, highlighting Andhra Pradesh as the only state providing the highest social security pensions to a record 64 lakh beneficiaries. Addressing a gathering in Nemakallu village, Anantapur district, Naidu revealed that Rs. 18,000 crore has been disbursed under the NTR Bharosa scheme in just five months. Beneficiaries who missed pensions can now collect three months’ dues at once.
On Saturday, 94.73% of the 60,55,945 beneficiaries received Rs. 2,563.01 crore as social security pensions, showcasing the government’s efficiency. Naidu emphasized the TDP-led government’s vision of wealth creation and equitable distribution, promising to transform Rayalaseema into a horticulture hub and ensure Rayadurgam municipality receives special development funds.
Public services will soon be linked with technology, enabling citizens to access them via mobile phones. Naidu pledged stern action against land grabbing, sand, and ganja mafias to ensure law and order. Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, SCs and STs will receive free solar panels to generate electricity and earn by selling surplus power. To combat desertification, he promised swift completion of the Jeedipalli and Bhiravani Tippa projects.
Warning against PDS rice smuggling, Naidu condemned traders exploiting the poor by buying rice cheaply and exporting it. He assured strict action to curb such practices, underscoring his government’s zero tolerance for corruption and exploitation.
