BRS Maintains Lead in Jubilee Hills: Survey Shows Growing Anti-Congress Sentiment
A recent VOTA survey reveals that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) holds a clear edge in the Jubilee Hills by-election, with 48 percent voter support compared to Congress’s 42 percent and the BJP’s 9 percent. Conducted between October 30 and November 4 across 1,050 respondents, the survey shows deep public dissatisfaction with the Congress government’s two-year rule.
Nearly 52 percent of voters rated the Revanth Reddy government’s performance as poor, and 67 percent gave the Chief Minister only 25 marks out of 100. Minority sentiment remains tilted toward BRS, with 49 percent saying it best represents their interests, while only 45 percent supported Congress.
Interestingly, 71 percent of respondents dismissed Azharuddin’s Cabinet inclusion as ineffective for the Muslim community, calling it more of a political stunt. Women and minority voters leaned slightly more toward BRS, while labourers formed its strongest base with 57 percent support.
A majority (61 percent) said governance under former CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao was better, and 57 percent stated that welfare and development policies would guide their vote. Sentiment around the Congress-backed HYDRAA urban agency was mostly negative, with many saying it harmed the poor.
The survey suggests Jubilee Hills voters remain skeptical of Congress promises, and unless the party reverses the trend, BRS could retain a decisive edge in the November 11 bypoll.
