CBI files case after finding bribes in censor board
The CBI recently began to pay attention to the Indian film censor board after Tamil hero Vishal said that he was being asked for payments by both public and private individuals there. The CBI has since taken action against these people, as was stated in their official announcement.
According to a complaint, "The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against three private individuals and unknown others, including Central Board of Film Certification, Mumbai, public employees and private individuals." "It was alleged that a private person entered a conspiracy with others to obtain a bribe of Rs. 7,00,000/- & to get the necessary censor certificate from CBFC, Mumbai for a movie dubbed in Hindi" during the month of September 2023.
"It was further alleged that in furtherance of the said conspiracy, she initially demanded bribe on behalf of CBFC Mumbai officials in the amount of Rs. 7,00,000/- from the Complainant and allegedly accepted Rs. 6,54,000/- in two bank accounts of other two accused." The CBI's statement was read.
