Pawan Kalyan Hails Constitution Amendment Bill 2025 as Landmark for Clean Politics

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has strongly endorsed the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025, introduced in the Lok Sabha by Union Home Minister Amit Shah under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Calling it a historic and transformative step, he said the amendment would uphold constitutional values, strengthen democracy, and most importantly, ensure that criminals have no place in Indian politics.
The amendment specifies that if the Prime Minister, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, or State Ministers are arrested and remain in custody for more than 30 consecutive days for offences carrying a minimum sentence of five years, they will automatically stand disqualified from holding office from the 31st day. They can only return to power after being acquitted or cleared through the judicial process.
Pawan Kalyan pointed out that in the past, leaders facing corruption and criminal charges continued to govern even from jail, which weakened the integrity of governance. With this amendment, he believes such undemocratic practices will permanently end. “Elected representatives must live and serve among the people, not rule from prison walls,” he asserted.
The actor-turned-politician expressed gratitude to the central government for bringing in such a bold reform, stressing that it will pave the way for transparent and corruption-free governance. He described the bill as an important step in reshaping India’s political landscape into one that is accountable, clean, and people-friendly.
With the Modi government taking this decisive step, Pawan Kalyan said India is moving closer to a political system where criminal influence has no space. He expressed confidence that this amendment will mark a new era of governance rooted in honesty, accountability, and the true spirit of democracy.
