CM Chandrababu Naidu Highlights Andhra Pradesh's Tech-Driven Vision at DeepTech Conclave
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed his commitment to positioning Andhra Pradesh as a global ‘knowledge hub’ by leveraging emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Quantum Computing. Speaking as the chief guest at the DeepTech Innovation Conclave in Visakhapatnam, Naidu underscored the transformative potential of deep tech in shaping the future.
Naidu noted that technologies have become integral to life and emphasized their role in driving innovation and economic growth. He praised Telugu-speaking IT professionals, who constitute 30% of Indian IT experts abroad, as a source of pride for the State.
The event, organized by the State government in collaboration with the Global Forum for Sustainable Transformation (GFST), NITI Aayog, Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ), and AIG Hospitals, showcased Andhra Pradesh’s focus on innovation.
Deep Tech as the Next Revolution
“Deep tech and drones hold immense potential to create jobs and revolutionize sectors such as tourism, healthcare, and agriculture,” Naidu said, adding that Andhra Pradesh aims to capitalize on these advancements to drive sustainable development. He announced plans for quarterly Deep Tech exhibitions to promote innovation and highlighted the establishment of Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs as part of the State's innovation ecosystem.
Naidu also unveiled the ‘Swarnandhra Vision-2047’, outlining a roadmap for achieving a 15% growth rate through 10 strategic principles.
Harnessing AI for Governance and Agriculture
The Chief Minister discussed the use of AI for analyzing government data, delivering precise weather alerts to farmers, identifying crop diseases, and deploying drones for pest control and disaster management. These initiatives, he said, can significantly cut costs and enhance efficiency across sectors.
P4 Model for Inclusive Development
Naidu introduced the P4 model (People-Private-Public-Partnership), expanding on the PPP model used in Hyderabad’s IT boom during his first tenure as Chief Minister. He urged wealthy individuals to adopt underprivileged families to bridge societal inequalities and eradicate poverty.
Green Energy Initiatives
Reiterating the State’s leadership in clean energy, Naidu highlighted reforms initiated in 1998 and outlined plans to promote solar, wind, and pumped energy solutions. Under the PM Suryaghar Yojana, households can install rooftop solar panels to generate and sell electricity. A partnership between NTPC and APGENCO has also secured a ₹2 lakh crore investment in a Green Hydrogen project in Visakhapatnam.
Building a Knowledge Economy in Vizag
Expressing confidence in Vizag’s potential as a “Knowledge Economy City,” Naidu announced plans for a skill census to identify gaps and provide targeted training to boost employment opportunities.
The conclave showcased Andhra Pradesh’s forward-looking approach to integrating technology for sustainable growth and solidified its vision of becoming a global innovation hub.
