CM Chandrababu Naidu Pushes AI and Digital Health for Maternal and Child Care
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital health initiatives to enhance healthcare in Andhra Pradesh, with a focus on maternal and child health.
During a meeting on Sunday with Prateek Sharma, president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and chairman of the AI Institute in America, and Rakesh Kalapala, director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation at AIG Hospitals, Mr. Naidu discussed innovative strategies to boost healthcare delivery.
In a post on 'X,' the Chief Minister elaborated on the discussions surrounding the newly formed Healthcare Consortium, aimed at leveraging AI and digital health technologies to provide scalable and affordable solutions for healthcare in the State.
One key focus is the use of AI-driven diagnostics for risk assessment and automated care solutions in critical areas. Mr. Naidu emphasized innovations such as real-time chatbots in local languages to assist expectant mothers with nutrition, prenatal care, and symptom monitoring. These chatbots would be integrated with local healthcare worker networks to ensure consistent guidance, align with government health protocols, and send reminders for appointments.
This forward-thinking approach marks a significant step in improving maternal and child healthcare and is part of the government's broader effort to create a healthier Andhra Pradesh.
