CM KCR denounces Congress, BJP mistreatment of Telangana
Bharat RashtraSamithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao accused the Congress and BJP of grave injustice to scheduled tribes in the State on Monday, as well as delaying Telangana's formation by 14 years after promising it.
On Monday, the Chief Minister held public gatherings in Devarakadra, Gadwal, Makthal, and Narayanpet seats of the former Mahabubnagar district, urging voters to choose parties based on their credentials in the November 30 assembly elections.
He also promised to fight the BJP-led Centre for Valmiki and Boya inclusion on the Scheduled Tribes list, urging voters to check each party's record. The previous Congress administrations have wronged these people by classifying them as Backward Classes in Telangana but STs in Andhra Pradesh.
He blamed the Congress for delaying the establishment of the new State, saying it sought to destroy the BRS (later TRS).
They attempted to ruin our festivity. Buy our MLAs, they tried. Despite their promise to ensure Telangana's formation, they gave the State only after 14 years of our struggle, and that too only after I started a fast unto death demanding Statehood, he said, noting that several people had died during the Statehood agitation as Congress delayed approval.
