CM Naidu Reaffirms Commitment to Job Creation and Pushes for Sports Infrastructure Development in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reaffirmed his commitment to creating 20 lakh jobs within five years, a key promise from the recent general elections. In a review meeting held on September 26, Naidu urged officials to prioritize establishing skill training centers in partnership with multinational companies and agencies to help meet this goal.
During the meeting, which focused on the Skill Development, MSMEs, Industries departments, and the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Naidu highlightedthe mission to cr"ate “industry-ready man"ower” by enhancing the skill sets of the workforce, particularly the youth. He emphasized the need for a detailed action plan to boost employment opportunities, especially in rural areas.
In a separate meeting on Sports and Youth Services, Naidu expressedstate’s ambition to host the 2027 National Games and called on officials to begin building the necessary sports infrastructure. He outlined plans to develop Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati as key sports hubs and stressed the need for a comprehensive sports policy.
Noting that the previous sports policy expired in 2022, Naidu criticized the previous YSR Congress Party government for failing to introduce a new policy despite growing public interest in sports. He urged officials to draft a forward-looking policy to further booststate's standing in the national sports arena.
