CM Naidu Unveils India’s First Indigenous Mpox RT-PCR Kit, Boosting Epidemic Preparedness
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday inaugurated India’s first indigenous Monkeypox (Mpox) RT-PCR kit in Amravati. Developed by Transasia Diagnostics at the Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone in Visakhapatnam, the kit has been validated by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO).
In a post on 'X', Mr. Naidu expressed pride in launching the groundbreaking diagnostic tool, noting that the lyophilized components of the kit are specifically designed for ease of shipping and usability, even in remote areas. He emphasized that the kit significantly enhances epidemic preparedness by providing precise, reliable, and accessible diagnostics.
The Chief Minister further highlighted that this innovation reflects the 'Make in AP' initiative, showcasing Andhra Pradesh's and India’s leadership in healthcare innovation on the global stage.
