CM Naidu Warns Officials of Serious Action Amid Flood Relief Efforts
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed strong dissatisfaction with the lack of dedication shown by some officials involved in flood relief and rescue operations in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the media on Tuesday, Naidu issued a stern warning, stating that serious action would be taken against those who fail to perform their duties effectively.
Naidu expressed his concern about possible foul play after unidentified boats caused a series of incidents, including damage to the counterweight of gate 69 at the Prakasam Barrage. "We will investigate the origin of these boats and who is responsible," he asserted.
Frustrated by the non-cooperation from certain officials, the Chief Minister noted that inefficiency had plagued the administration during the previous five years. He revealed that show-cause notices had been issued, with one official in Jakkampudi already suspended. Naidu made it clear that no one, including his ministers, would be spared if they failed to work properly.
Emphasizing the responsibility of officials to serve the people, especially during crises, Naidu reminded them that their salaries are paid by taxpayers. "It is our duty to serve the people, particularly in times of need," he stated, urging negligent officials to maintain their dignity by fulfilling their obligations.
Naidu dismissed YSRC President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to flood-affected areas as a mere “five-minute show,” questioning whether Reddy had offered any tangible assistance to those in need. The Chief Minister also criticized Jagan and other YSRC leaders, accusing them of attempting to divert the government's attention and create problems for the public.
Naidu concluded by reaffirming his commitment to reaching out to the most affected individuals and ensuring that no one is left to suffer during the ongoing relief and rescue operations.
