CM Revanth Reddy Launches Maha Lakshmi, Rajiv Arogyasri Schemes
In a formal announcement, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reiterated the Congress government's dedication to fulfilling the six guarantees promised to the people within 100 days. As part of this commitment, he officially inaugurated the Maha Lakshmi free travel scheme for women in TSRTC buses and the Rs 10 lakh insurance program under the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme.
The launch of both schemes took place on Saturday, coinciding with the birthday of Congress Parliamentary Party president Sonia Gandhi. Notably, under the Maha Lakshmi scheme, zero tickets were issued to Ministers D Anasuya (Seethakka), Konda Surekha, and Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari.
Highlighting the significance of the Rajiv Arogyasri Scheme, Chief Minister Reddy emphasized that the assistance provided had been increased to ensure high-quality medical treatment for the underprivileged. He reminded the public of Sonia Gandhi's commitment to granting statehood to Telangana in 2004, a promise fulfilled on June 2, 2014.
Sonia Gandhi had recently outlined six guarantees for the people of Telangana on September 17. Chief Minister Reddy noted that two of these promises had already been fulfilled on December 9, underscoring the Congress government's dedication. He assured that the remaining commitments would also be met within the stipulated 100 days.
To mark the occasion, Chief Minister Reddy, along with his cabinet colleagues and newly elected MLAs, embarked on a bus journey to the BR Ambedkar Statue at Tank Bund. Following the symbolic journey, the Chief Minister returned to the Assembly before proceeding to the Secretariat. Palakurthy MLA Yeshashwani Reddy expressed enthusiasm for the Maha Lakshmi scheme, emphasizing its potential benefits for women, particularly college students and those in rural areas.
