CM Revanth Reddy to Tour Districts Ahead of Telangana Municipal Elections
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to begin an extensive district tour from Wednesday as part of the Congress party’s campaign for the municipal elections scheduled for February 11. The tour follows the party’s campaign efforts in gram panchayats and is aimed at strengthening the Congress’s presence across urban local bodies.
According to party sources, the Chief Minister will begin his campaign in Miryalguda in the erstwhile Nalgonda district on Wednesday. He is scheduled to address public meetings in Choppadandi in Karimnagar on Thursday, Nizamabad Rural on Friday, and Parigi in Rangareddy on Saturday. The tour is expected to conclude with a public meeting in Bhupalpally, Warangal district, on Sunday.
There is, however, no clarity yet on Revanth Reddy’s proposed campaign schedule for Medak on Monday. Ahead of the district tour, the Chief Minister is likely to convene a meeting with ministers and senior party leaders in Hyderabad later in the day.
With Monday marking the final date for withdrawal of nominations, the meeting is expected to focus on assessing candidates’ winning prospects, finalising campaign strategies and addressing issues related to rebel candidates. Party leaders are also likely to discuss constituency-level challenges and messaging to be adopted during the final phase of campaigning.
The district tour is seen as a crucial effort by the Congress leadership to consolidate support, energise party workers and present a unified front ahead of the municipal polls, which are being viewed as an important test for the ruling party’s organisational strength.
