Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Pledges Fair Pensions and Development
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan assured that the government will ensure fair distribution of pensions to all eligible individuals. Despite financial challenges, the alliance government has fulfilled its promise, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu personally visiting homes to distribute pensions for the first time. Kalyan highlighted Naidu's experience as crucial for the state's current situation, enabling the successful implementation of the pension payments.
Kalyan criticized past practices where village secretaries took cuts from pension payments. He emphasized that current government officials will not engage in such practices. The government is exploring ways to support volunteers involved in the pension distribution process.
He also highlighted other priorities, such as providing protected water and road connections to all villages, including tribal areas like Araku. Kalyan urged patience, noting that rebuilding the state's systems, which have been severely damaged, will take time. He pointed out recent actions like the Civil Supplies Minister's crackdown on rice hoarding in godowns as steps towards improvement.
Kalyan also criticized the previous government's expenditure on luxurious projects like the Vizag palace, suggesting that the funds could have been used for district development. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to the welfare of the people and the gradual implementation of corrective measures.
