EC Notice to KCR
The Election Commission of India (EC) has issued a notice to Telangana Chief Minister KCR for his remarks about the Congress during a public meeting in Banswada on October 30th. The Central Election Commission penned a letter to KCR, urging him to refrain from making comments that incite the public. During the Prajashirwada Sabha in Banswada, KCR acknowledged that his comments regarding the attack on Kotha Prabhakar Reddy were against the rules.
As a star campaigner, the EC emphasized that individuals in responsible positions should avoid making inappropriate remarks and cautioned that such comments would be taken seriously. The notice underscored the EC's authority to revoke permits for those making such speeches and advised against taking the current comments lightly.
Congress state president Balmuri Venkat filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission, alleging that KCR's statements during the Prajashirwada Sabha were provocative. Following an inquiry, the local returning officer submitted a report to the EC on the 14th of the month. Based on this report, the EC issued a notice to CM KCR, advising him to refrain from making provocative comments.
