Former TDP MP JC Diwakar Arrested

Former TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy has been arrested and taken into custody by the police on Wednesday when he was going to Venkatapuram. TDP and YSRCP activists have clashed over a land dispute in Venkatapuram village of Bukkaraya Samudram Mandal in Anantapur from some time. The case is still in court.

Recently, YSRCP activists had laid fencing around the land which resulted in tensions between both the parties. Knowing this, Diwakar started to Venkatapuram. The police after knowing this news, stopped him entering the village, sensing the law & order disturbance. But Diwakar argued with the police for a long time. However, the police said that he can't go near the land, as the case is still pending in the court.

Earlier revenue officials who reached the place gave a clean-chit to the YSRCP activist who claimed the ownership of the land. On the other hand, Shinganamala MLA Jonnalagadda Padmavati expressed her anger over TDP leaders for bringing caste wars in the district.
