Google Assistant's Evolution: Bard Integration Set to Redefine Virtual Assistance
Google Assistant is on the cusp of a major transformation as it prepares to integrate its AI chatbot, Bard. This move comes after Google recently implemented layoffs affecting hundreds of Bay Area employees and removed 17 underutilized features from Google Assistant. Reports from the Google News Telegram channel suggest that the integration of Bard into Google Assistant could happen as soon as March.
To prepare for the launch, Google has reportedly created a dedicated page within the Pixel Tips app to showcase the features of the upcoming Bard-integrated Google Assistant. However, this page is currently inaccessible to users. The integration is expected to harness Google's Gemini family of Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance the virtual assistant's capabilities.
Leaked details suggest that users will be able to activate the Bard-enabled Google Assistant using familiar commands like "Hey Google" or double-tapping the side buttons. Once activated, the integrated assistant will offer various input methods, including typing queries, speaking commands, and providing queries with accompanying images for context. A welcome message from 9to5Google hints at the assistant's expanding capabilities and continued hands-free assistance.
Although Google had previously revealed its plans to incorporate Bard into Google Assistant, the specific rollout information and features have largely remained undisclosed until now.As anticipation grows for the upcoming integration, users and tech enthusiasts eagerly await further official announcements from Google about the transformative changes coming to the Google Assistant experience.
