Google's stock drops $100 billion after its new AI chatbot makes an error.

A few days ago, Google released its version of the language model Bard, which was said to rival OpenAI's ChatGPT.
But if recent events are any indication, the interactive chatbot could hurt Google more than any of its competitors. Google showed off its newest projects at a live-streamed event last night on YouTube. AI was the focus of the "Live from Paris" event, and Google briefly talked about the Bard chatbot.
And Bard's wrong answer has caused chaos, which has caused the company's shares to drop. In response to a question about the James Webb Space Telescope, Bard said it was one of the first to take pictures of a planet outside the Earth's solar system.
But it turns out that NASA has confirmed that a different telescope took the pictures. Alphabet, the company that owns Google, had its biggest drop in three months. During regular trading, Alphabet shares fell as much as 9%, and there were almost three times as many trades as the 50-day moving average. In a video meant to promote Bard, the company gave the wrong answer, which caused shares in its parent company, Alphabet, to drop by more than 7%. The company's market value dropped by about $100 billion as a whole.
Microsoft held a surprise event with OpenAI the day before Google's event. They showed off AI features in Bing search and the Edge browser at that event.
