Government awards 15,000 2BHK to families impacted by the Musi Riverfront project.
The State government on Wednesday issued orders sanctioning 15,000 2BHK houses to families residing in dwelling units of the river bed and buffer zone of Musi River. This came one day after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced the allocation of double-bedroom homes for families who would be displaced by the Musi Riverfront Development Project.
The decree states that around 15,000 houses were identified after a field level assessment of the Musi River and its buffer zones was carried out, according to the managing director of Musi River Front Development Corporation Limited.
Given that the majority of the families living in the river bed and buffer zone were low-income, the corporation asked the government to consider giving these families a humanitarian allotment of two bedroom apartments in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area through the District Collector.
According to the ordinance, 15,000 2BHK have been approved by the government for households living near the Musi River's buffer zone and river bed.
10,200 individuals were found to be impacted by the Musi riverfront development project after the authorities recently carried out an assessment of the river bed and buffer zone.
Teams headed by the district collectors of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri will begin knocking on doors on Wednesday to tell locals about the double-bedroom residences they have been assigned.
The first step will be to remove 1,600 occupied houses from the Musi riverbank and relocate the people. In addition to a 2BHK house, landowners will receive compensation that covers both the cost of building and the land's worth. The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act will be followed in determining the compensation that residents of the buffer zone would receive for their constructions.
