Hard Time for BJP in Uttarakhand over Candidate Nomination for Lok Sabha Elections
For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which are due in two months, the BJP leadership is finding it difficult to choose the candidates for allocating the tickets with party leaders contending with each other to claim on at least three of the five lower house seats in the state.
As per the sources, Pauri, Tehri, and Nainital are the seats for which there are more than one contenders making it difficult for the BJP to choose.
MP and former chief minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri said that older people should step aside and make room for young leaders. This has led to speculation that in Pauri party might be getting a new face for this Lok Sabha elections. As per the sources daughter of Khanduri, Yamkeshwar MLA Ritu Khanduri might be the party's choice.
Amit Shah is visiting Dehradun on February 2 where he will address over 10,000 booth-level workers and this speculations on BJP's nomination of a candidate won't stop until then.BJP state president Ajay Bhatt said, “As of now, my assessment is that all the sitting MPs would be our candidates this time. But it is the privilege of our senior leaders to take the final call on this matter.”
Amidst all these BJP along with booth-level workers is taking help of ‘Panna Pramukh' to plan it's campaign and the final candidate selection will be done only after the consultation and with party president meeting as per the sources.
