Harish Rao Slams Revanth Reddy Over Language, Alleges Governance Failures
BRS Legislative Party deputy leader T. Harish Rao on Thursday strongly criticised Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for what he termed “abusive and irresponsible language,” accusing him of lowering the dignity of public discourse to divert attention from governance failures.
Addressing a press conference, Harish Rao said the Chief Minister’s recent remarks, made after his US tour, had shocked civil society and damaged Telangana’s cultural ethos. He alleged that Revanth Reddy’s frustration stemmed from the public affection shown towards BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, widely referred to as the “Father of Telangana.”
Highlighting the BRS government’s decade-long tenure, Harish Rao credited KCR with achieving statehood and transforming Telangana through welfare schemes, irrigation projects, and infrastructure development. He accused the Congress government of diluting or delaying crucial farmer-centric initiatives such as loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa payments, and paddy bonuses, while restricting power supply to farmers.
On irrigation, Harish Rao cited progress made under the BRS regime on projects like the Srisailam Left Bank Canal, contrasting it with what he described as inaction by the current government. He also raised concerns over unemployment, fee reimbursement delays, and pending dues to retired employees.
Questioning the Chief Minister’s foreign visits, Harish Rao asked how much actual investment and employment had materialised. He further alleged an understanding between the Congress government and the BJP, pointing to the absence of central agency action despite complaints against Revanth Reddy. He warned that attempts to deflect attention through personal attacks would not go unnoticed by the people.
