Hyderabad Private Schools Prioritize Safety Amidst Rising Covid-19 Cases
As the city of Hyderabad grapples with an increase in Covid-19 cases and seasonal infections, private schools are taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of their students. Recognizing the need for caution, several schools are advising students to wear masks and adhere to hygiene practices to prevent the spread of infections within the school premises.
Safety Measures Implemented by Private Schools: Private schools in Hyderabad have taken various steps to promote safety among students. Some institutions have issued safety advisories to parents, emphasizing the importance of students wearing face masks. Additionally, teachers are actively sensitizing students about the proper use of face masks in classrooms and the regular use of hand sanitizers.
Encouraging Parents' Cooperation: To further enhance safety measures, schools are urging parents to send their children to school with face masks and encouraging them to use hand sanitizers regularly. Some schools have gone a step further by requesting parents not to send their children to school if they are experiencing any health issues. This precautionary measure aims to protect other students and staff members from potential infections.
Flexibility in Safety Measures: While the emphasis on safety is evident, schools are currently not making the use of face masks mandatory. A school correspondent mentioned, "As a precautionary measure, we have asked parents to encourage their kids to wear masks and use hand sanitizer or wash hands regularly. We have not made it mandatory at this point."
Future Plans and Government Guidelines: Depending on the post-winter vacation Covid-19 situation and guidance from the government, schools are prepared to make face masks mandatory if needed. The missionary schools are observing a Christmas vacation from December 22 to 28, while other schools have holidays on December 25 and 26.
Continuous Covid Protocols: Y Shekhar Rao, President of the Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association, emphasized the continuation of Covid protocols in schools. Regular handwashing remains mandatory, although face masks have not been made compulsory as of now.
