Hydra Effect: No more bank loans in those areas
Despite the relentless political remarks on HYDRAA, CM Revanth Reddy is virtually unrelenting with his efforts. The agency has been going hard on illegal construction in the city and carrying out demolition drives all over, with the much-talked-about Musi River encroachment clearance bound to happen soon.
While HYDRAA has been operating at its own speed, there are certain complaints about the corrective measures that are to be taken. There is constructive feedback that the agency must first sort out the banking sector and registration department in order to stop the emergence of such illegal properties.
Luckily, the feedback has reached HYDRAA commissioner Ranganath and he has taken a much-needed decision in this regard. Ranganath stated that he would be holding a meeting with banking sector representatives soon and instruct them not to finance construction projects in buffer zones and FTL limits. HYDRAA would be sharing a mapping of the buffer zones across the city with the private and public sector banks, thus marking out the problematic areas.
Once this step is ingrained, banks would automatically stop funding construction projects in the buffer zones which could halt half the problems right away. This is going to be one of the first step towards a long-term gain as the Revanth Reddy government is pretty serious on restoring the lands that belong to natural water bodies.
