IndiGo Flight Status Today: Over 60 Flights Cancelled Across Major Airports
Travel disruptions hit passengers across India on December 21 as IndiGo cancelled at least 68 flights, according to data available on the airline’s website by 8 am. Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport bore the brunt of the impact, with the highest number of cancellations reported on key domestic routes.
Several flights connecting Delhi with major cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Pune were cancelled, in many cases affecting both arrival and departure services on the same routes. Southern cities also faced significant disruptions. Chennai reported cancellations on Delhi and Patna routes, while Bengaluru saw flights to and from Delhi, Ranchi, Goa (Mopa), and Chandigarh called off. Hyderabad, Coimbatore, and Madurai were also affected, primarily due to Delhi-linked services being suspended.
In western India, cancellations were reported at airports in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, and Goa (Mopa). Routes such as Mumbai–Delhi, Pune–Delhi, Pune–Amritsar, and Nagpur–Goa were among those impacted. Goa’s Mopa airport faced multiple cancellations involving Delhi, Bengaluru, Nagpur, and Chandigarh.
Eastern and northeastern regions were not spared either. Flights between Kolkata and Ranchi, Kolkata and Chandigarh, and Dibrugarh and Delhi were cancelled, affecting passengers in cities like Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, and Ranchi.
Late Saturday night, IndiGo issued a travel advisory warning of dense fog in Delhi and parts of northern India during early morning hours. The airline stated that reduced visibility could cause sudden operational disruptions and urged passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. Travellers have been advised to stay alert for delays or last-minute cancellations.
