India Condemns Iran Attack on UAE Port That Injured Three Indians
India strongly condemned Iran’s reported attack on the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone in the United Arab Emirates, which left three Indian nationals injured. The incident has heightened tensions in the already volatile Middle East region.
The Ministry of External Affairs described the attack as “unacceptable,” urging an immediate halt to hostilities and stressing the need to protect civilian lives and infrastructure. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated India’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the best path toward restoring peace and stability.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also denounced the attack, expressing solidarity with the UAE and emphasizing that targeting civilians cannot be justified under any circumstances. He highlighted the importance of maintaining safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route.
According to UAE authorities, air defense systems intercepted multiple missiles and drones, though one drone struck an oil facility, sparking a fire and injuring workers. Iran has not clearly confirmed responsibility, with officials issuing ambiguous statements.
