Indian students ask what the big news is about Biden.
President Joe Biden made a great deal for students when he announced a $39 billion debt relief scheme that will wipe out the debt of 804,000 student borrowers.
After hearing this news, Indian MS students have asked if they will be able to pay off their loans from Indian banks so they can finish their Masters in the U.S.
But, to their dismay, Biden's statement only applies to American students and not to foreign students.
The U.S. wants more students to come to their country because colleges often have trouble getting enough money to run. India, China, and Korea give the most money to colleges, which makes them very important.
Indian students are asking about this because during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trump government gave free money to everyone, including people with H-1B visas.
