Indian woman's restaurant shootout!
According to testimony given in court, a family member of a former British governor and politician was implicated in a shooting at an Indian restaurant in London. Elton Charles, 51, a getaway driver for his half-brother who discharged a shotgun at the PBK curry shop in Greenford last year, is married to the daughter of Lord Patten of Barnes.
The assault was a part of a plot to terrorize the restaurant's proprietors, who were embroiled in a conflict with another business partner. According to testimony given in court, Charles got messages from his brother on a disposable phone instructing him to meet up with him in Greenford and "hang around." He said that he was unaware of the incident and expressed amazement at being taken into custody.
Along with two other co-defendants, Charles was found guilty of conspiring to possess a handgun with the goal to incite fear of violence. As the findings were announced, his wife Laura Patten, a former beauty editor for Tatler, sobbed openly. Nathaniel St Aimie, his brother, had earlier entered a guilty plea to the same allegation.
This instance serves as a reminder of the rising issue of gun violence in the UK, which has experienced an increase in killings and shootings over the last several years. Experts have linked the gang culture, drug trafficking, and easy availability to illicit firearms to this development.
