Indians Are Unwilling To Pay Extra For 5G Services, According To 43%

43% of those willing to switch to 5G are not willing to pay anything more than the current rates for 3G and 4G services, according to a report released on Friday.
Despite the fact that many more smartphone users are expected to switch to 5G once issues such as drop/connect, network availability, and low speed are addressed, 43% indicate that they are willing to pay an additional 10% tariff, according to a report by LocalCircles, an online community platform.
Just 2% of them showed a willingness to pay between 25-50% more tariff for 5G.
Compared to 4G speeds of 40-50 Mbps, 5G services are expected to support speeds of 300 Mbps or higher, depending on the area and connectivity in India.
Initially, Reliance Jio and Airtel will launch in Bengaluru, Chennai, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Kolkata, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Siliguri, Gurugram, and Hyderabad.
According to the report, just 5% of mobile subscribers surveyed are ready to move to 5G in 2022.
While 20% surveyed said they already have a 5G device, another 4% are likely to get one this year. Another 20% said they are likely to purchase a 5G device in 2023.
The findings showed that nearly 24% of respondents shared that they have no plans to buy a newly upgraded device in the foreseeable future, while another 22% have yet to make up their minds.
Samsung said it is committed to rolling out OTA updates across all its 5G devices by mid-November; Apple said it would start delivering 5G to iPhone users in December.
Most mobile subscribers expect upgrading to 5G service to reduce call drop/connect issues and improve network availability and speed.
