KCR Govt To Distribute Over 1 Crore National Flags For Independence Day Celebrations

The KCR government has decided to celebrate "Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsava Dwi Saptaham" for 2 weeks, 7 days before and 7 days after August 15, and distribute 1.20 crore national flags for hoisting across the state.
The CM K Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to organize a series of programs promoting patriotism and educating the new generations about the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the fruits of the national freedom struggle.
"CM KCR said that the national flag should be hoisted on every house in the state. For that, 1.20 crore tri-colour flags will be made available," said an official release.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said, "Every Telangana citizen should take part in the diamond jubilee celebrations of Independence Day from village to town and spread the message of India's glory as One India.”
The CM instructed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take all necessary steps to hoist national flags reflecting the patriotic spirit at all populated places, railway stations, bus stations, shopping malls, star hotels, cinema halls, in the cities, and main traffic junctions.
MPs, MLAs, MLCs, as well as people representatives at the sarpanch level, including Chief Secretary-level officials, should print the national flag symbol on their official letterheads.
