KCR Inaugurates World's Largest Irrigation Project!
Today, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, which is termed as the "world's largest irrigation project".
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan have attended the event as chief guests.
The project is built on the Godavari River that lifts the water to a height of half-a-kilometer which supplies water to 70 percent of districts in Telangana for agriculture, drinking water, and industrial purposes.
KCR has conducted pooja at the project site in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, near the borders of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
Officials said that the project which costs Rs 80,000 crores is the first step towards the goal of "Bangaru Telangana" set by TRS government.
